BT MediaNet 2000 and BT MediaNet 2000 Lite provide bi-directional access between the Customer Premises and BT Tower. The maximum aggregate bit rate available for conveyance of broadcast and associated multimedia information is 2488Mbit/s including overheads in each direction for BT MediaNet 2000 and 155Mbit/s including overheads in each direction for BT MediaNet 2000 Lite .

BT MediaNet 2000 and BT MediaNet 2000 Lite services are provided as fully resilient services (1 + 1 circuits) and are the standard services. Each circuit is diversely routed, thereby achieving a very high level of service availability. The services are operationally managed by BT on an end to end basis. In this event of any Loss of Service occurring, Customers are financially compensated in accordance with the `Enhanced Customer Credit Scheme for Applicable BT MediaNet Services'.

Permanent Virtual Circuits

Customer sites are connected to each other using Permanent Virtual Circuits. Each Permanent Virtual Circuit will comprise of two or more access circuits (BT MediaNet 2000, BT MediaNet 2000 Lite). Customers can request to reconfigure Permanent Virtual Circuits in non-real time.
