Out-of-Area Exchange lines connect customers to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) via a telephone exchange which would not normally provide a service to that customer's location.
Eligibility
This service is not available for new supply, provision, rearrangements or shifts.
Remote Call Forwarding * offers a permanent alternative. Calls from an existing number can be diverted to a new number. See Section 2 Part 4, Sub Part titled ``Network Features'' for details.
Pricing Information
Out Of Area Line is made up of Rental and Connection as follows:
Rental: Standard Line Rental + Out Of Area Line Main Link Rental + Different Charge group Rental (if applicable) + AC15 signalling per end Rental (if applicable)
Connection: Out Of Area Line Connection + AC15 Signalling per end Connection (if applicable)
A worked example is given at the end of this part.
Plus an additional rental charge when signalling is required (see rental charges later in this Part)
Timescale charges may apply for removal of signalling equipment to a new position in BT's exchange and charges may apply where signalling is required at the customer's premises and this is a specially assessed charge.
For External shifts if the customer is only changing the distant end within the exchange boundaries then the charges will apply as outlined in(Section 12 Part 1 ). However if the customer wants to re-terminate the main link to another local exchange then it will be cease and provide. Therefore the customer will need to pay connection charges of the mainlink etc.
