Section 12:Inland Private Circuits

Part 5:Service to Other Administrators

Subpart 1:Private Services to Other Administrations

BT recognises the following Other Administrations (OAs) who have jurisdiction over designated areas of Great Britain:

Republic of Ireland; (a)

The Channel Islands;

- Analogue and KiloLine Circuits to Jersey are NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR NEW SUPPLY (b)

The Isle Of Man;

- Analogue and KiloLine Circuits to the Isle of Man were FULLY WITHDRAWN from 31 December 2007(c)

Kingston Upon Hull.

Products to these OAs are derived from standard retail products but have differing price structures that recognise that BT charges only for a portion of the circuits provided.

Service categories offered are:

  • Analogue
  • Digital low speed (KiloLine & KiloLine N)
  • Digital high speed (MegaLine)

These products are covered by BT's Standard Care service offering. It is not currently possible to upgrade them to PromptCare or TotalCare.

As the circuits provided to OAs are not wholly BT controlled, agreed points for the calculation of the main link distance related charges have been established. These are shown below.

Charges for the portion of the circuit beyond the charging point will be made by the OA.

For circuits between Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland, the straight line distance between the customer's serving exchange and the appropriate border crossing is used for analogue circuits, and Deadmans Hill is used for digital circuits. (a)

For all circuits from mainland Great Britain to Republic of Ireland, the straight line distance between the customer's serving exchange and Nefyn (Gwynedd, North Wales) is used. (a)

Main link measurements for all circuits to the Channel Islands are calculated based on the straight line distance between the customer's serving exchange and Sidmouth.(b)

Main Link measurements for all circuits to Isle Of Man are calculated based upon the straight-line distance between the customer's serving exchange and Douglas.(c)

Main Link measurements for circuits to Kingston Upon Hull are calculated based upon the straight-line distance between the two customer serving exchanges for Analogue services and to Hull Anson exchange for Digital Services
